The Skin of our TeethTo put on THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH we need a large, diverse cast - not just to represent the Antrobus family, but also to represent ALL OF HUMANITY (plus a dinosaur and a woolly mammoth!).

Actors Ensemble of Berkeley announces auditions for our production of
"The Skin of Our Teeth", Thornton Wilder's 1943
Pulitzer-Prize-winning allegory about the survival of Humankind.
Performances will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, opening January
4 and running through January 26, with matinees Sundays, January 13
and 20 at Live Oak Theater in Berkeley.

Rehearsals will begin the week of November 11 and will be split
between locations in Berkeley and Temple Beth Hillel, Richmond.
Auditions are Sunday/Monday, October 7/8 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
at the Old Finnish Hall (1819 10th Street, Berkeley 94710). Note
there are TWO Finnish Halls in Berkeley, The Old Finnish Hall is NOT
the one on Chestnut.

We are seeking a diverse cast to represent all of humankind. All
races, ethnicities, ages, and genders are welcome. Please bring paper copies
of your headshot and resume. Please be prepared to read from sides.

We will schedule folks in 15 minute blocks. If you wish to audition
together we encourage you to sign up together. Please write

theatre veterans and newcomers to audition - if this is your first
time - write us and we will help you through the process. We
recognize these dates may not work for everyone - if this is true for
you we may be able to make alternate arrangements - write us and find
out.

Non AEA/no pay. We do not discriminate against anyone on account of
race, gender, or sexual orientation. We do frequently cast cross-type
and gender.

George Antrobus, a citizen of the world age 40 to 60
Mrs. Antrobus, a wife and mother age 40 to 60
Gladys Antrobus, their daughter age 18-35
Henry Antrobus, their son age 18 to 35
Sabina, the maid and much more age 18 to 45

 

PLUS we are looking for an ensemble of 11 representing all races, ages, and gender-identities to play one or more of the following roles (all will be considered for all roles).
