Performed one night only, Sunday, October 28th at 7 p.m., at Live Oak Theatre, just down the street from Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto. The three improv groups featured are:

Shakespeare¹s Stepchild

Shakespeare¹s Stepchild is Merrill Gruver, Jon Ligon, David Boyll, ChetAnderson, and Lisa Rowland. We welcome Special Guest Stepchildren Holly Thorsen and Jerry Ruoti.

We are a longform improvisational theatre troupe performing improvised plays in the style and spirit of the inimitable Bard, William Shakespeare. Having originally formed for the BATS Improv ³Cave Match² Tournament in 2009, we discovered that we could not bear to part company, and have been performing free, improvised Shakespeare in the parks of San Francisco ever since.

The Streetlight People

Once upon a time there were a few grown up folks, named Derek, Rish, Sima and Lisa. Every day they did grown-up things like driving cars, taking their vitamins, and doing laundry, even though it was awful tiresome and dull. One day, they discovered the magical world of improvised theater. In this world, they found joy and delight in make believe stories of western cowboys, femme fatales, prim & proper sisters, and fanciful woodland creatures! Derek, Rish, Sima and Lisa liked this new world very much and wanted to play in it as much as possible.

Fueled by inspiration and nighttime snacks, they forged a collaboration...and ever since then, they¹ve become known as The Streetlight People.
